No. REAL's comfortable ultrasonic scaling is a mature, gentle physical cleaning method. High-frequency ultrasonic energy breaks up calculus instead of mechanically scraping the tooth. Combined with nano air-polishing, it removes deposits safely without harming enamel, causes little sensitivity, and does not make teeth thinner or brittle.
I brush carefully every day. Why is regular professional scaling still recommended?
Brushing removes soft plaque and food debris but cannot remove calcified calculus or accumulated tobacco, tea, and coffee stains. Calculus is a major cause of swollen gums, bad breath, and periodontal disease. Regular comfortable scaling is the most direct way to remove deep deposits and a fundamental step in maintaining periodontal health.
